INTO THE LIGHT is an installation
featuring the art of Sougwen Chung
and the music of Yoyo Ma.
The 3-dimensional drawings compose scenes inspired by manifold interpretations of light; as natural phenomena, bodily meridians and cosmic microwave background, a remnant of the earliest light of the universe.
INTO THE LIGHT unfolds as a six chapter augmented reality experience, guiding audiences through the experience while blending the virtual world with the physical spaces around them.
The musical score are movements of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Unaccompanied Cello Suite No. 2 in D Minor, performed by the legendary Yo-Yo Ma, from his 2018 recording of the suites, Six Evolutions.
Six artworks
installed in the space correspond to the various chapters of the installation.
The works align the building architecture with the Fibbonaci sequence, one of the inspirations for the musical composition by Johanne Sebastian Bach.
The pieces are also revealed as AR markers for the audiovisual sculptural environment.
