Sougwen's latest collection of spatial drawings, rooted in generative sculpture and satellite imagery, is currently on view at EXPANDED.ART GALLERY until October 5. SEED THEORY is a series seeded from human movement, glacial textures, and the earth as seen from above.

SEED THEORY draws inspiration from the research of the late microbiologist Lynn Margulis. Her pioneering theory of planetary symbiosis — and earth as a co-creative and co-regulatory system challenge conventional views of human beings and technology as separate from nature. In her work, the Earth is a self-regulating complex system involving the biosphere, the atmosphere, the hydrospheres and the pedosphere, tightly coupled as an evolving system.

First unveiled as part of SEED STORIES AI in Context #1, a programme by EXPANDED.ART dedicated to education on AI and art, this work is featured in a duo exhibition with Boris Eldagsen, accompanied by a performance by Jiny Lan and curated by Anika Meier.
